**Job Summary**
As a Senior Data Scientist – Statistics, you'll be responsible for providing numerical modeling and analysis services to support business decision making. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex business problems, develop and implement data-driven solutions, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Develop and maintain statistical models to support business decision making, including regression analysis, time series analysis, and machine learning
* Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns, and develop insights to inform business strategy
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex business problems, and develop and implement data-driven solutions
* Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders, including business leaders and technical teams
* Develop and maintain data visualizations and reports to support business decision making
* Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in statistical modeling and machine learning, and apply this knowledge to drive business growth
* Participate in model development, model deployment, and model maintenance for multiple projects, and collaborate with product delivery teams
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with data analysis and modeling, including data quality and model bias
* Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including business leaders and technical teams
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to drive business growth
**Essential Qualifications**
* Postgraduate education (PhD or ABD) in a quantitative field, including statistics, mathematics, or computer science
* Strong background in statistical modeling and machine learning, including regression analysis, time series analysis, and machine learning algorithms
* Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, including R, Python, and SQL
* Strong programming skills, including C, C++, Java, R, Python, or other organized programming languages
* Excellent business, technical, verbal, and written communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with data analysis and modeling
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Minor in computer science and formal high-level computer science coursework
* 2+ years of professional experience in a quantitative field, including data analysis and modeling
* 1+ years of experience in the airline industry or a related field
* 1+ years of experience planning and programming/coding data structures for large-scale computer models
* Experience with Julia programming language
* Knowledge of arenaflex/industry data sources
* Organized programming for large-scale computer models
* Shown ability to create business value
