What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will be the face of our organization—the first point of contact that sets the tone for every customer's shopping experience. Your responsibilities extend far beyond traditional cashier duties; you will be an ambassador of our brand, a problem-solver, and a team player dedicated to ensuring every customer leaves satisfied.

  • Deliver Personalized Customer Experiences: Greet customers warmly and engage them in meaningful conversations to understand their needs. Offer product recommendations, answer questions, and provide assistance that goes above and beyond their expectations. Your goal is to create distinctive and delightful interactions that keep customers coming back.
  • Master Point-of-Sale Operations: Operate cash registers with precision and accuracy. Process customer purchases efficiently, handle cash and electronic payments, make correct change, and process returns, exchanges, refunds, and rain checks as needed. Ensure every transaction is completed smoothly and accurately.
  • Resolve Customer Concerns Professionally: Listen actively to customer complaints or issues, empathize with their concerns, and work diligently to find satisfactory solutions. Transform potentially negative situations into positive outcomes that reinforce customer loyalty.
  • Drive Sales Through Product Knowledge: Recommend complementary items, trade-up options, and companion products to enhance customer purchases. Use your product knowledge to suggest solutions that meet customer needs while contributing to store sales goals.
  • Maintain Store Merchandising Standards: Keep counters and shelves clean, well-organized, and properly merchandised. Participate in setting up promotional displays, seasonal decorations, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions as directed by management.
  • Ensure Inventory Accuracy: Take regular inventory counts, check in incoming merchandise, and price items according to company guidelines. Assist with stock rotation using first-in, first-out (FIFO) methods to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
  • Support Store Security and Compliance: Implement company asset protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss. Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment for all.
  • Assist with Food Safety and Product Placement: Follow proper procedures for separating food items (raw foods from pre-cooked) and organizing products according to health and safety guidelines. Place items in correct locations to maintain quality and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Provide Photo Department Support: Offer exceptional service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, poster printing, and creative machine operations. Suggest promotional photo products to enhance customer purchases.
  • Handle Web Pick-Up Responsibilities: Monitor online orders, fill customer pick-up orders efficiently, and deliver orders to customers as they arrive at the store. Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment for our omnichannel customers.
  • Maintain Store Appearance: Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure our store always looks clean, neat, and welcoming. A well-maintained store environment enhances the customer experience and reflects our commitment to excellence.
  • Complete Training and Development: Attend all required training sessions and complete personalized learning plans (PPLs) as assigned by management. Continuously develop your skills and knowledge to deliver the best possible customer service.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work cooperatively with colleagues, support store operations, and complete special assignments as needed. Foster positive relationships with coworkers and maintain respectful communication at all times.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Skills

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively communicate with customers and team members. (Note: Bilingual skills are always valued and may provide additional opportunities in certain locations.)
  • Availability: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Our stores operate during extended hours, and we need team members who can adapt to varying schedules.
  • Customer-First Attitude: A genuine desire to help people and create positive experiences is essential. You should enjoy interacting with diverse customers and take pride in delivering excellent service.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry moderate loads, and perform repetitive tasks. Retail environments require physical activity, including walking, bending, and reaching.

Preferred Qualifications (Highly Valued):

  • Retail Experience: Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, merchandising, and store operations is a significant advantage.
