About the Department

BED’s vision is to make Burlington a Net Zero Energy city by eliminating fossil fuel usage across the electric, thermal, and ground transportation sectors by strategically electrifying, managing demand, realizing efficiency gains, and expanding local renewable generation while increasing system resilience.

Oversees fuel deliveries and ensures that woodchips are transported to the steam generator at the McNeil Generating Station. Responsibilities also include the operation and routine maintenance of fuel-handling equipment including front end loaders.

Union Affiliation: International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 
Pay Grade 5: $22.88 - $37.50 Hourly 
Remote Tier 1: Zero (0) days remote/week
