Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Information Researcher - Real World Evidence (RWE) to join our Scientific Projects team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for generating high-quality Real World Evidence through advanced research methodologies and innovative approaches in the clinical trials space. You will serve as a key contributor to our Analytical Projects group, working alongside cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources.
This position reports directly to the Chief of Clinical Data Science and offers the opportunity to influence decision-making both internally and externally through the application of innovative data science and technology. You will conduct sophisticated data analysis to address critical business questions and contribute to groundbreaking research that shapes the future of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Mining and Analysis: Mine raw data sets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from in-house data resources or licensed platforms. Analyze and interpret results while contributing to the development of comprehensive analysis strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various members of the arenaflex Clinical Trial team to deliver actionable insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. Potential projects include analysis of unmet needs, safe and effective treatments in specific disease states, treatment patterns and healthcare economic burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling.
- Data Management: Clean, transform, and store data into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization, ensuring data quality and accessibility.
- Statistical Analysis: Perform data mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/Real World Data (RWD) to discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes.
- Capability Development: Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to address scientific inquiries from biopharmaceutical organizations.
- Research Collaboration: Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies, ensuring methodological rigor and statistical validity.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE reviews and investigations, maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity.
- Reporting and Visualization: Build dashboards, analyses, and reports for both internal and external use, effectively communicating complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Vendor Assessment: Conduct due diligence on new real-world data providers and vendors, driving RWD quality assessments to inform project decisions.
Essential Qualifications
- Statistical Expertise: Proven experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data. Strong foundation in study design, hypothesis testing, and statistical methodology.
- Statistical Techniques: Knowledge of common statistical testing methods including generalized linear models, clustering and classification, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis.
- Big Data Experience: Demonstrated experience processing large-scale data from diverse data sources, with the ability to handle complex, high-dimensional datasets efficiently.
- Healthcare Data Handling: Experience handling protected patient health information (PHI) with strict adherence to data privacy regulations and security protocols.
- Business Intelligence Tools: Proficiency in at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI and insight tools for data visualization and reporting.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, biostatistics, data science, mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree: PhD or Master's degree in statistics/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Healthcare Data Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/Health IT systems, disease registries, and insurance claims databases.
- Clinical Data Standards: Familiarity with clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD-9/10/ReadCode).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR).
- Innovation Experience: Experience working on alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, especially those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions.
- Advanced Statistical Methods: Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, and computational statistics.
- Machine Learning: Understanding of statistics and machine learning methods, with the ability to continuously self-learn technical and non-technical skills.

Location and Work Hours
