Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Ategrity Specialty Insurance Company specializes in property and casualty insurance, focusing on the excess and surplus lines market. The Systems Engineering Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for managing a team to support Ategrity’s core Infrastructure and integrations, ensuring the effective maintenance and operation of cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize, assess and resolve production support issues involving any of Ategrity’s cloud platforms and infrastructure
- Manage competing priorities across operational and project work
- Plan, assign and monitor projects and work for Engineers within the team
- Coaching and professional development of team Engineers
- Conduct one-on-ones and performance planning sessions with team
- Prioritize ad-hoc project requests required to maintain project velocity
- Address Infrastructure lifecycle and maturity concerns
- Proactively make recommendations on infrastructure refresh and redesigns
- Proactively monitor and improve the security posture of company cloud resources
- Document infrastructure designs, procedures, and detailed work instructions
- Drive efficient cloud cost management and improve budget efficiency
Skills
- 5 years of cloud infrastructure design and support. (Azure preferred)
- At least 4 years of experience as a team manager, or 5+ as a team lead or equivalent
- Experience supporting 2nd or 3rd level desktop infrastructure such as power shell scripting, RMM configuration, software distribution etc
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or developing engineers in cloud infrastructure environments
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to participate and contribute to project planning / delivery processes (Kanban / Scrum etc.)
- Ability to contribute to Infrastructure as Code processes
- Azure Administrator Associate Certification or equivalent experience
- Any of the following Certifications: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Security Engineer Associate
