What You'll Be Doing
As a Software Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud-based systems and applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that power our global operations. Here's what you can expect in this role:
- Full Stack Development: Design and implement both frontend and backend components using modern technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, React, or Angular. You'll create intuitive user interfaces while building robust server-side logic.
- Cloud Platform Expertise: Build and manage end-to-end solutions on leading cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Amazon Web Services (AWS). You'll leverage cloud-native services to create scalable, resilient applications.
- Containerization & Deployment: Utilize Kubernetes or similar container orchestration systems to deploy and manage applications at scale. You'll ensure smooth, automated deployments and maintain high availability.
- Database Management: Work with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL, designing efficient schemas and writing optimized SQL queries. You'll ensure data integrity and performance across our systems.
- CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design and implement continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to streamline our development workflows. You'll automate testing, building, and deployment processes.
- Agile Collaboration: Work effectively in cross-functional agile teams, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. You'll contribute to user stories, acceptance criteria, and continuous improvement.
- Technical Leadership: Lead technical initiatives and guide team members through complex technical challenges. You'll mentor junior developers and drive best practices across the organization.
- Real-Time Systems: Develop and operationalize solutions for near real-time, high-volume streaming situations. You'll build systems that can handle massive data throughput with low latency.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Dive deep into complex issues, debug hard-to-solve problems, and provide technical solutions. You'll be comfortable working at the code level to identify and resolve issues.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging technologies, explore new tech stacks, and propose innovative solutions. You'll be willing to research, experiment, and implement new approaches.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need a solid technical foundation and proven experience in software development. We're looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent formal education or relevant work experience will also be considered.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of qualifying work experience in Information Technology or an engineering environment. An advanced degree may offset some of the experience requirements.
- Cloud Platform Experience: Hands-on experience building end-to-end solutions on cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Backend Development: Strong proficiency in backend development using Java or Spring Boot framework.
- Frontend Development: Experience with frontend frameworks like React or Angular, with the ability to adhere to creative design specifications.
- Database Skills: Comfort with database concepts and experience writing SQL for relational databases including MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Agile Methodology: Experience working in cross-functional teams in Agile environments, with familiarity in working with user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Version Control: Experience with source control management tools like Git and Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to learning new technologies, exploring tech stacks, and finding solutions through research and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would make you an even stronger candidate:
- Experience as a technical lead for a team or project, demonstrating leadership capabilities and the ability to guide others.
- Experience with Kubernetes or comparable systems for containerized deployments.
- Strong understanding of and demonstrated experience in building CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on development skills with the ability to work at the code level and debug complex, hard-to-solve problems.
- Experience developing and operationalizing skills and solutions including near real-time, high-volume streaming situations.
- Nice to Have: Experience with Power Platform technologies (Power BI, Power Apps) is a plus.
