Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Data Lead to join our Studio Data Management division within our Content and Business Products (CBP) team. This role is central to our operations, focusing on maintaining and improving the quality of data related to content deals, talent agreements, and partnerships that power the content we deliver to millions of viewers globally.
As a Data Lead at arenaflex, you will serve as the primary subject matter expert for deal-related data across our studio operations. You will work closely with product teams, engineering partners, and business stakeholders to ensure that our data infrastructure supports both current operational needs and future growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our Studio Data Management team, you will be responsible for driving data quality initiatives and ensuring the integrity of our content deal information. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Data Leadership: Develop and communicate short-term and long-term strategies for deal data management across the studio, including data quality improvements and stakeholder education initiatives. Create quarterly goals aligned with business objectives and lead the execution of strategic roadmap initiatives.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary data expert for deal-related information across the entire studio organization. Consult with product managers, engineers, designers, and business partners on all matters related to content deal data, ensuring consistent understanding and proper data utilization.
- Metrics and Reporting: Collaborate with product management, data science teams, and other partners to define, create, analyze, and report on metrics that provide visibility into various aspects of data quality. Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks that track key performance indicators and highlight areas for improvement.
- Strategy Development: Independently define and implement strategies to effectively scale data quality operations across the organization. Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and efficiency gains.
- Project Leadership: Lead data quality initiatives that support product development and improve foundational data quality. Create detailed project plans that identify business impact, timelines, risks, and resource requirements, then execute on those plans with rigor and attention to detail.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage partner requests and drive alignment when conflicts arise between different business units or priorities. Serve as the point of contact for escalated data-related issues and facilitate resolution.
- Support and Enablement: Act as a resource for responding to data-related support requests from internal users. Develop and maintain documentation, FAQs, and training materials to empower users to resolve common issues independently.
- Process Improvement: Work with business teams to create and implement more efficient processes, best practices for data management, and comprehensive documentation that captures institutional knowledge.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills. The following qualifications are required:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a comparable discipline.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience working in data management with databases and/or content management systems. You should have a proven track record of working with complex data sets and driving quality improvements.
- Analytical Capabilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information across an broad ecosystem to diagnose issues and devise effective solutions. You should be comfortable working with large datasets and extracting meaningful insights.
- Process Improvement Mindset: Solid understanding of workflow management and the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose practical solutions.
- Industry Knowledge: General understanding of the content lifecycle from pitch to play, including the key stages of content acquisition, development, production, and distribution.
- Data Governance: Knowledge of data lifecycle and data governance concepts, including data quality frameworks, metadata management, and data stewardship practices.
- Project Management: Excellent time management and project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines for multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate with empathy and clarity to both technical and non-technical audiences. You should be able to translate complex data concepts into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Comfortable thriving in a growing and evolving environment. You should be flexible and open to new challenges, technologies, and ways of working.
- Technical Proficiency: Capability with Google Suite and table-based applications such as Excel and Airtable. Experience with data visualization and reporting tools is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications

- Database Skills: Proficiency with SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. Experience with querying relational databases and understanding of data modeling principles.

- Entertainment Industry Background: Experience in legal operations or studio operations, or alternatively, experience working at a studio, distributor, film sales company, production company, agency, management firm, or other entertainment organization.

- Programming Knowledge: Basic programming or scripting skills (Python, R, or similar) for data analysis and automation purposes.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
