This role sits at the intersection of business analysis, process intelligence, and intelligent automation — using UiPath Process Mining and Task Mining to uncover inefficiencies, quantify automation opportunities, and build the analytical foundation for RPA and AI-led transformation across claims adjudication, denial management, prior authorization, and revenue cycle workflows. About the Role Healthcare claims operations are complex, high-volume, and often burdened by manual effort, rework, and compliance risk. This role exists to change that — using process intelligence tools to see exactly how work actually happens, not just how it's supposed to happen, and translating those insights into prioritized, ROI-backed automation recommendations that development teams can act on. Requirements Key Responsibilities Process & Task Mining Deploy and configure UiPath Process Mining to ingest event log data from claims systems (Epic, Facets, Availity, clearinghouses) and reconstruct actual process flows end-to-end Use Task Mining to capture desktop-level user interactions across claims intake, validation, adjudication, remittance, and denial workflows — generating objective, data-backed as-is process documentation Identify process variants, bottlenecks, rework loops, and compliance deviations across the claims lifecycle Build and maintain process mining dashboards and conformance checking models to monitor process health over time Claims Domain Analysis Analyze end-to-end claims workflows including EDI 837/835 transactions, eligibility verification, prior authorization, claims submission, adjudication, remittance posting, denial management, and appeals Map payer-provider interaction points and identify root causes of denials, delays, and manual touchpoints Quantify volume, cycle time, error rates, and manual effort across claims processes to build defensible ROI models Collaborate with clinical, billing, and operations teams to validate findings and prioritize improvement opportunities Automation Opportunity Development Translate process and task mining insights into structured automation candidates with clear scope, effort estimates, and ROI projections Develop Process Definition Documents (PDDs) and Solution Design inputs for RPA development teams Prioritize automation pipeline based on volume, complexity, compliance risk, and business value Partner with UiPath RPA developers and architects to ensure seamless handoff from discovery to build Stakeholder Engagement Present process mining findings, dashboards, and automation business cases to healthcare operations leaders and IT stakeholders Facilitate workshops with claims SMEs, billing teams, and payer relations staff to validate as-is processes and co-design future-state workflows Support change management activities during automation deployment and process transformation initiatives Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in business/process analysis, with at least 2 years focused on healthcare claims operations Hands-on experience with UiPath Process Mining and/or Task Mining — or equivalent tools (Celonis, Minit, Fluxicon Disco) Deep understanding of the healthcare claims lifecycle: EDI 837/835, eligibility, prior auth, adjudication, denial management, remittance, and appeals Experience working with claims platforms such as Epic (Resolute HB/PB), Facets, TriZetto, Availity, or Change Healthcare Proficiency in process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart) and event log analysis Strong analytical skills with ability to build ROI models and business cases from process data Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements and PHI handling standards Experience with RPA platforms — UiPath preferred — and understanding of automation development lifecycle Benefits Preferred Qualifications UiPath Process Mining or Task Mining certification Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies Experience with SQL for event log extraction and preparation from claims systems Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, and healthcare interoperability standards Exposure to AI/ML-enhanced process mining use cases (anomaly detection, predictive conformance) PMP or Agile certification What Success Looks Like Process mining models live and actively monitoring key claims workflows within 60 days of engagement start Automation pipeline of 10+ prioritized candidates with validated ROI within 90 days Measurable reduction in claims denial rate, rework, and manual processing time through automation initiatives Business stakeholders able to self-serve process performance dashboards without analyst involvement
