Role Summary
The Systems Architect provides strategic and technical leadership across enterprise infrastructure environments, designing and governing secure, scalable, and integrated systems that support business operations and modernization initiatives.
The role is responsible for defining infrastructure architectures spanning data centres, networks, storage, compute, and cloud platforms while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and modernization priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Define and maintain enterprise infrastructure architecture strategies, principles, and target-state designs
Develop architecture blueprints covering data centres, networking, storage, compute, and cloud platforms
Lead development of infrastructure solution designs aligned with business and technical requirements
Define integration strategies across on-premise and cloud systems
Design hybrid architectures integrating on-premise environments with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP
Guide migration initiatives from legacy infrastructure to cloud-based environments
Evaluate infrastructure technologies and recommend modernization solutions
Ensure infrastructure architectures incorporate security-by-design principles
Collaborate with solution architects, engineers, and operations teams to guide implementation
Maintain and organize architecture documentation and technical artifacts within the enterprise repository
Assess infrastructure performance and identify opportunities for optimization
Design for resilience, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery

Requirements
Qualifications
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
Professional certifications in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP considered an asset
Certifications in virtualization platforms such as VMware considered an asset
Additional certifications such as CISSP or ITIL considered an asset
Experience
Proven experience as a Systems Architect with a focus on enterprise infrastructure and solution design
Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, storage, compute, and cloud platforms
Experience designing hybrid architectures and leading infrastructure migration initiatives
Ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical designs
Experience working with Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments
Familiarity with security frameworks, compliance requirements, and infrastructure best practices
Experience collaborating across technical teams to deliver complex infrastructure solutions
