**Your Role:**
As a Senior Mechatronics Systems Technologist, you'll be responsible for leading the mechatronics technologies competence across Innovation Engineering at arenaflex. Your key responsibilities will include:
Technology Leadership
* Define and evolve the mechatronics technology roadmap, with a strong link to digital- and AI applications
* Identify gaps in current capabilities and develop plans to close them
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of mechatronics technologies across the organization
Expert Contribution
* Drive mechatronics design in product and system development, including modeling, simulation, and analysis
* Select optimal sensing and actuation strategies, and apply advanced control techniques including AI-based methods
* Develop and maintain technical expertise in mechatronics, control theory, sensing & actuation, and AI for control systems
Competence Building
* Mentor team members across locations (e.g. Eindhoven and Pune)
* Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of arenaflex employees
* Champion AI, model-based design, and system performance innovations
Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as an internal consultant across projects, providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams
* Engage externally with universities, consortia, and industrial networks to stay ahead of trends and attract top talent
**You're the Right Fit If:**
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechatronics Systems Technologist who can lead the way in mechatronics technologies at arenaflex. To be considered for this role, you'll need:
Must-Have Qualifications:
* Academic thinking level: PhD or MSc in Mechanical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering (focus on Dynamics & Control)
* 10+ years of experience in mechatronics and hardware/system design
* Deep expertise in control theory, sensing & actuation, and AI for control systems
* Strong stakeholder and communication skills
Strong Preferences:
* Demonstrated leadership in regulated product development (preferably medical devices)
* Thought leadership presence (conference speaking, academic collaborations)
* Systems Engineering familiarity (V-model, requirements management)
* Risk and quality compliance: ISO-14971, ISO-13485, EU-MDR
* DfSS/DMAIC certification (Greenbelt or Blackbelt)
* Experienced in Matlab/Simulink, AI tooling (e.g., ML models, neural nets, MPC)
