Position Overview
As a Senior Information Security Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for leading production support activities for our suite of data analysis products that power critical internal banking operations. You will serve as a key technical resource in identifying, triaging, and resolving production incidents that impact our client data analysis platform. Your expertise in big data environments will be crucial as you analyze complex technical challenges, conduct deep assessments, and implement effective solutions before they affect our products and services.
This role offers an exciting blend of technical problem-solving, project leadership, and team mentorship. You will take ownership of smaller projects aimed at enhancing our production support capabilities, including implementing new monitoring tools, establishing operational procedures, and preparing for the launch of new products and features. Additionally, you will serve as the primary liaison between onshore and offshore teams, ensuring clear communication and successful delivery of key initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Information Security Engineer at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with the following core responsibilities:
- Lead Production Support: Oversee and execute production support activities for a portfolio of data analysis products used to support internal bank operations, ensuring high availability and performance standards.
- Incident Management: Serve as a key contributor in the identification, triage, and resolution of production incidents affecting our client data analysis platform, working diligently to minimize downtime and customer impact.
- Technical Analysis: Analyze complex technical problems within big data environments that require in-depth assessment, root cause analysis, and sustainable remediation strategies.
- Research and Reporting: Lead research initiatives and prepare comprehensive reports related to ongoing production challenges, presenting findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Process Enhancement: Lead the development of new project processes and platform enhancements, driving continuous improvement across our data infrastructure.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as the primary contact for onshore teams while ensuring effective communication and reporting of delivery progress from offshore team members.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion ongoing improvement initiatives, identifying new strategies, methodologies, and opportunities for innovation within the data engineering space.
- Performance Standards: Contribute to establishing performance standards for the team and ensure operations meet or exceed established performance metrics.
- Risk and Control: Direct the daily Risk and Control workflow, focusing on compliance, procedures, and work standards to ensure successful outcomes while re-engineering and driving continuous support improvement.
- Team Leadership: Lead teams to meet deadlines and drive new initiatives forward, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Change Management: Review, approve, and implement recommended changes to plans, ensuring all modifications align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate and consult with team members to resolve challenges and achieve technology mandates across the organization.

Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data analysis, information security, or a related field. Equivalent demonstrated experience through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education will also be considered.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of big data lake environments and ability to work effectively with multiple technology teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in high-pressure situations.
- Travel Requirement: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time as needed for team meetings, training, and project coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

- Big Data Experience: 2+ years of experience supporting big data environments, including hands-on work with large-scale data platforms and distributed computing systems.
- Data Engineering Skills: 2+ years of experience delivering ETL, data warehouse, and data analysis capabilities on big data architectures such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar technologies.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience with a combination of the following tools: HIVE, Panda, Autosys, Grafana, Splunk, or equivalent monitoring and analytics platforms.
- Database Technologies: Previous experience supporting Kafka, MongoDB, or other NoSQL/document databases.
- Financial Services Background: Understanding of financial services industry processes, regulations, and best practices.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Cloudera Certified Administrator, or equivalent big data platform certifications.
