Position Overview

This role is integral to our Consumer Products, Gaming, and Publishing division, which creates and distributes magical products and experiences to fans around the world.
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will lead, analyze, and engineer extensive datasets to develop cutting-edge predictive models that drive meaningful business insights across both brick-and-mortar retail and e-commerce platforms. You will serve as a mentor and technical leader to our data science team, providing expert guidance and fostering cross-functional collaboration to meet our internal client information needs. What You Will Do
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our analytics strategy and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leadership and Strategic Vision: Provide leadership and set strategic direction for the data science team, with a focus on Omni-Channel analysis spanning both physical retail locations and digital commerce platforms. Define the roadmap for analytics initiatives that align with business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with Analysts, Technical Partners, and Business Leaders to establish an improvement roadmap based on comprehensive business needs. Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
- Requirements Translation: Translate complex business requirements into precise product specifications that guide development efforts. Ensure that technical solutions effectively address business challenges and deliver measurable value.
- Strategy Alignment: Facilitate strategy alignment sessions, adapting approaches to business drivers, challenges, and long-term organizational objectives. Balance short-term needs with sustainable, scalable solutions.
- Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement efficient data pipelines to address critical business challenges, leveraging advanced technical tools and retail systems to ensure data quality and accessibility.
- Best Practices and Code Quality: Establish and execute data science team best practices, including conducting code reviews for team members to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to industry standards.
- Compelling Visualizations: Create compelling visuals, charts, and graphs that resonate with data, tailoring presentations to various audiences from technical stakeholders to executive leadership. Transform complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Advanced Analytics: Apply advanced analytics techniques including regression analysis, machine learning, and clustering to drive meaningful insights that inform strategic decision-making across the organization.
What You Bring
We are seeking a talented professional with a proven track record in data science and analytics. The ideal candidate will possess:
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience developing Analysis, Statistical, or AI models to extract insights and address business challenges, preferably in a retail or e-commerce setting.
- Proficiency in web analytics and visitor segmentation, utilizing data to drive informed decisions and enhance online customer experiences.
- Experience leading small teams in rapid and accurate data analysis, feature definition, and innovative problem-solving for complex business challenges.
- Expertise in working through intricate problems and developing data-driven narratives that support strategic decision-making.
- Strong cloud platform and technology proficiency, with hands-on experience in cloud-based analytics environments.
- Proficiency in machine learning or artificial intelligence techniques, with practical application experience.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective team and individual interaction, with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in multiple data technology areas, including:
- Data pipelines and ETL tools such as SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, or Tableau Prep
- Database platforms including Snowflake and SQL Server
- Scripting languages such as Snowscript, JavaScript, VBA, or Python
- Statistical and Data Science languages including R, SAS, or Python for Data Science
- Application of machine learning techniques in real-world business scenarios
- Experience with advanced analytics techniques such as regression analysis, clustering, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, p-values, causal inference, Random Forest, Bagging, Boosting, and Time Series analysis.
