What You Will Do
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of our data infrastructure initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that power our machine learning capabilities. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of advanced technology packages that support US Federal market data science, including comprehensive requirements gathering and thorough solution analysis
- Collaborate closely with our core IT team to support the development and production data pipeline architecture
- Design and implement data engineering best practices consistent with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines that support the training and production of machine learning models
- Monitor production systems and provide ongoing support to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Work with academic leaders, industry experts, and highly skilled engineers to enable clients to generate new and sophisticated insights from big data
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure and engineering processes
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members on best practices

Essential Qualifications
- US Citizenship is required due to the nature of federal client work
- Must reside in the United States
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- At least five years of professional experience related to data engineering in an enterprise environment
- At least three years of experience supporting end-to-end development of scalable data pipelines, including monitoring and support for production systems
- At least three years of experience in data warehousing, relational databases, JSON, Apache Hive, Spark or Hadoop, or related technologies
- Strong skills in Python and SQL
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with US Federal agencies
- Experience with the Cloudera Platform and Docker containers
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services
- Familiarity with machine learning workflows and model deployment
- Experience with streaming data processing frameworks
- Understanding of data governance and security best practices
