We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with over 10 years of hands-on experience in managing, optimizing, and securing enterprise-level databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database architecture, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and ensuring data integrity across systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database systems
- Administer, monitor, and support databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Ensure database security, compliance, and data integrity
- Troubleshoot complex database issues in production environments
- Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell, etc.)
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for database design and deployment
- Manage database upgrades, patches, and migrations (on-premises and cloud)
- Support high availability solutions (Replication, Clustering, Always On, Data Guard, etc.)
- Maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
- Strong expertise in at least one major RDBMS:
- Oracle / SQL Server / PostgreSQL / MySQL
- Deep understanding of: Database architecture and design, Performance tuning and query optimization, Indexing strategies and execution plans
- Experience with backup/recovery tools and HA/DR solutions
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Shell, Python, PowerShell)
- Experience with Linux/Unix and/or Windows server environments
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
