Edwards Vacuum is a leader in vacuum and abatement solutions, seeking a Technical Account Manager to drive sustainable growth within the Process Industries. This role involves developing strategic relationships with end users and EPC firms, influencing specifications, and ensuring that Edwards technologies are selected for projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for Tier 1 end users in the chemical and process industries
- Build relationships across all levels: Corporate engineering & technology teams, Plant operations, maintenance, and reliability teams, Procurement and sourcing organizations
- Drive efforts to achieve Approved Vendor List (AVL) inclusion across targeted accounts
- Position Edwards as a preferred partner for vacuum and abatement solutions
- Identify and develop brownfield and capital project opportunities
- Work with end users to influence equipment specifications and standards
- Provide technical guidance and application support to ensure Edwards solutions are designed into projects early
- Deliver value-based technical presentations and solution proposals
- Gather and communicate voice-of-customer insights to internal teams
- Build and maintain relationships with key EPC firms supporting target end users
- Utilize end-user relationships and market intelligence to drive RFQ activity through EPC channels
- Ensure Edwards is specified, listed, and competitively positioned in EPC bid packages
- Support EPCs with technical and commercial inputs during proposal development
- Identify, qualify, and track project opportunities across assigned accounts
- Maintain a robust pipeline of early-stage (spec-driven) and active RFQ opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to align on win strategy and value proposition
Skills
- 5–10 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or account management within the process industries
- Strong experience working with end users (chemical, petrochemical, O&G, pharma)
- Strong experience working with EPC firms and project environments
- Proven success in developing relationships and influencing specifications
- Experience with rotating equipment, vacuum systems, or similar industrial technologies
- Technical expertise in rotating equipment and its applications within the process industry
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work under pressure
- Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset, capable of identifying risks, solving problems, and driving initiatives forward
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability, with the confidence to raise concerns and escalate issues when necessary
- Ability to travel up to 30% locally with occasional, infrequent domestic travel across the U.S
- Bachelors/master's degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering
- Open to other degrees
- Experience with C4C is a plus
