The Senior QA Engineer will advance the quality, reliability, and scalability of the software platform by designing automation frameworks, implementing test suites, and collaborating with engineering and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and reusable component libraries
- Build and maintain automated test suites using cloud-based automation platforms such as Test Sigma
- Develop end-to-end integration tests using Playwright or similar modern frameworks (C#, Java, or equivalent)
- Define and implement automation strategies aligned with product architecture, delivery timelines, and risk profiles
- Partner with engineers and product managers to ensure requirements are testable and properly validated from design through release
- Create shared testing utilities, libraries, and helper functions that accelerate test development across teams
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast and reliable feedback
- Monitor test reliability and reduce flakiness to maintain a trustworthy automated test signal
- Analyze test results to identify defects, performance issues, coverage gaps, and systemic quality risks
- Collaborate with development teams to triage, troubleshoot, and resolve defects efficiently
- Conduct risk-based test planning to prioritize testing across critical user journeys and system components
- Advocate for modern QA practices including shift-left testing and continuous quality improvement
- Communicate test results, quality risks, and technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Adapt quickly to evolving priorities while maintaining a high standard for quality and reliability
Skills
- 8+ years of professional software testing experience with strong expertise in automation
- Hands-on automation experience using C#, Java, or similar languages and modern frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress
- Experience building maintainable automation architectures using patterns such as Page Object Model (POM), data-driven, or hybrid frameworks
- Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Strong understanding of software testing principles including verification and validation, defect management, and risk-based testing
- Experience developing mocks, stubs, or service simulators to enable isolated testing
- Familiarity with containerized environments and test execution in platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience using observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, or similar) to support performance analysis and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, or similar
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical quality issues into clear business insights
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and operations teams
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries
- Experience designing and executing performance testing using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or Azure Load Testing
- Ability to define performance benchmarks, SLAs, and acceptance criteria with engineering and product teams
- Experience analyzing load testing results to identify system bottlenecks, latency issues, and scalability limitations
