Albert Bow is a high-performing crypto trading firm seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of their data systems and infrastructure. This role involves building low-latency, high-throughput systems that directly influence trading decisions and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Building a unified data ingestion platform across:
- Blockchain (on-chain)
- Centralised exchanges (off-chain)
- Designing systems for
- Real-time streaming data
- Historical backfill & snapshotting
- Creating a single source of truth used across trading, risk, and quant teams
- Handling rate limits, failures, and data consistency challenges
- Owning performance, reliability, and observability end-to-end
Skills
- Rust (production level) – async, concurrency, systems programming
- Building high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines
- Designing event-driven / streaming architectures (vs polling)
- Working with PostgreSQL or ClickHouse at scale (time-series data, optimisation)
- Integrating external APIs / event streams reliably
- Blockchain data experience (EVM, Solana, RPC, event parsing)
- CeFi exchange APIs (Binance, Bybit, etc.)
- Experience designing data warehouse or ingestion systems
- Loves systems engineering and backend performance challenges
- Has built and owned production-critical infrastructure
- Comfortable in high-stakes, real-time environments
- Exposure to trading, fintech, or crypto environments
