IntePros is partnered with a global pharmaceutical services client to identify a Senior Accountant in the Incentives program to support the accounting, administration, and financial analysis of customer incentive and rebate programs. This role is responsible for ensuring rebate agreements are accurately reflected within SAP, analyzing contractual terms, maintaining financial controls, and supporting the monthly financial close process.
Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities related to customer incentive and rebate programs
- Administer rebate agreements within SAP, including setup, maintenance, and ongoing updates to ensure accuracy
- Review customer contracts to determine rebate eligibility, payment structures, and financial obligations
- Maintain accurate rebate accruals, supporting schedules, and payment documentation
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to incentive accounting
- Prepare financial reports and analyses supporting rebate accruals, settlements, and program performance
- Analyze sales trends, rebate activity, and payment history to identify variances and business insights
- Interpret contractual language and translate business terms into accounting and system requirements
- Develop, maintain, and enhance internal controls supporting incentive and rebate processes
- Utilize advanced Excel functions—including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formulas—to analyze large datasets and manage rebate calculations
- Learn, maintain, and improve internal tracking workbooks and reporting tools
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with Finance, Sales Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate execution of rebate programs
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Hands-on SAP experience, preferably supporting rebate, agreement, or incentive management
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience interpreting contractual agreements and translating financial terms into accounting processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting incentive or customer rebate accounting programs
- Experience within a large corporate, public company, or highly regulated environment
- Exposure to complex rebate structures, including tiered, threshold-based, or volume-driven programs
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience identifying process enhancements
