ICF is a global advisory and technology services provider, and they are seeking an experienced Project Manager with expertise in power delivery engineering to lead complex utility infrastructure projects. The role involves overseeing project planning, coordination, and execution to enhance grid reliability and support efficient power system operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead power delivery projects from initiation through closeout, including scope development, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for utility clients, engineering partners, and internal leadership, ensuring all project activities align with client standards, regulatory requirements, and system performance goals
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, emphasizing technical quality, safety, and on‑time performance
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, including substation design, physical/electrical engineering, system protection, SCADA/communications, and civil/structural contributors
- Manage subcontractors and external partners, ensuring work products meet technical specifications and project requirements
- Facilitate design reviews, technical work sessions, and project check‑ins to maintain alignment across teams and resolve engineering challenges. Monitor project performance metrics - including design progress, engineering quality indicators, and cost/schedule variance and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Support business development activities, including the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, work plans, and client presentations
Skills
- High school diploma
- 8+ years of experience in power delivery engineering project management
- 5+ years of experience preparing forecasts, accruals, & invoicing for power delivery projects
- 3+ years of experience in a cost allocation, project coordination, or assistant project manager role
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration or related field
- Experience working with investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, and/or rural electric cooperatives
- Experience with change order management, schedule creation, and budget tracking/forecasting
- Ability to prioritize work while working on multiple projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced user of Microsoft products, specifically Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of utility substation engineering project scopes
- Comfortable with client facing communication
