AUM Advisors is a strategic investor relations and capital markets advisory firm working with companies navigating U.S. listings, de-SPAC transactions, and Nasdaq readiness. They are seeking a Media Relations Associate whose primary mission is securing media placements for clients, ranging from pre-IPO companies to Nasdaq-listed issuers.
Responsibilities
- Pitch and secure media placements across broadcast, financial, and trade outlets for clients across capital markets transactions
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, producers, and editors covering capital markets, and sector-specific trade press
- Draft press releases, media pitches, corporate blog posts, op-eds, and executive bylines
- Lead social media strategy and thought leadership content development for client executives and corporate accounts
- Help produce materials for AUM's own conference and thought-leadership initiatives (including our Japan and Europe SPAC summits)
- Collaborate with senior IR advisors to ensure messaging is accurate, on-brand, and aligned with each client's capital markets objectives
Skills
- 2-3 years of experience in media relations, financial PR, journalism, or a related field, with a track record of securing press placements
- Strong writing and pitching skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and capital markets concepts into stories journalists want to cover
- Comfort working across multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously
- Existing expertise or demonstrated ability to quickly get up to speed in sectors such as AI, quantum computing, cleantech, defense tech, and fintech
- NYC-based preferred, but open to remote candidates anywhere
