[Remote] Financial Management Consultant (PP&E)

Guidehouse is a finance and accounting consulting firm seeking a Financial Management Consultant to assist clients in achieving their strategic goals. The role involves identifying and solving complex challenges related to financial management, improving internal controls, and supporting government agencies with financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Help clients identify, evaluate, and solve complex challenges to achieve strategic goals and objectives
• Transform business processes, improve operational efficiency, and comply with Federal laws and regulations
• Support internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR) in line with OMB Circular A-123
• Support the development and execution of corrective action plans and remediation strategies
• Provide financial statement audit and audit risk management support
• Assess the impact of new guidance on financial operations and support implementation
• Apply analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
• Document and evaluate business processes and make recommendations for improvements
• Produce communications including memos, presentations, and executive briefings
• Conduct research to investigate client problems and recommend solutions
• Assist clients in analyzing projects and programs to identify risks and develop mitigations
• Support clients in collecting and analyzing data, producing models, and drawing conclusions
• Analyze and improve policies and procedures for various programs and operational needs
• Assist in business development activities including identifying client needs and developing proposals
• Participate in coaching and mentoring staff
• Assist in the development of learning materials and presentations
• Support recruitment initiatives for the company

Skills

• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD 'PUBLIC TRUST'; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or applicable financial related field
• FOUR (4) years of Financial Management experience including at least one: Reviewing of property, plant, and equipment supporting documentation, Financial statement audit standards, Responding to audit requests
• Demonstrates proven knowledge and success in advising federal clients in financial reporting and meeting the requirements of related federal guidance, including: OMB Circular A-136, the GAO Green Book, the Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990, Federal Managers' Financial Integrity Act of 1982 (FMFIA), Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), and GAO/PCIE Financial Audit Manual
• Proven ability to implement innovative solutions to meet changing organizational needs, ability to bring creativity and collaboration to the process of working with financial systems
• Federal audit support, audit liaison, corrective action planning, and executing remediation with a focus on internal controls over financial reporting and management financial statement assertions
• Demonstrated GAAP accounting expertise and knowledge and understanding of Federal financial accounting standards and the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL)
• Demonstrated knowledge of Federal financial management, accounting, and budgetary business processes
• CPA
• Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA)
