Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Telvero is seeking a Fiber Network Planning Engineer to support the planning, documentation, and capacity management of its fiber access network. This role involves maintaining network documentation, supporting growth initiatives, and assisting with capacity planning to meet customer demand.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain documentation for existing and planned GPON and XGS-PON networks, including Visio diagrams
- Maintain accurate network records and planning documentation
- Monitor network capacity and assist with bandwidth forecasting and growth planning
- Identify and initiate capacity relief projects using practical and cost-effective solutions
- Support the engineering, design, evaluation, and implementation of telecommunications network infrastructure
- Analyze access, local area, and wide area network environments to support network planning initiatives
- Assist with the implementation of hardware, software, and third-party services
- Troubleshoot interoperability issues across network platforms and technologies
- Complete moderately complex engineering assignments with minimal supervision
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams when needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years of telecommunications engineering or network planning experience
- Experience working with OSP, ISP, or fiber access networks
- Knowledge of GPON and/or XGS-PON network architecture
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio for network documentation
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with FTTH network planning
- Experience with fiber network planning and engineering software
- Knowledge of bandwidth forecasting and capacity planning
- Experience supporting access network, edge network, or OSP planning initiatives
- Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure deployment projects
