Are you ready to be part of a revolutionary approach to health and wellness? At arenaflex, we're not just processing data—we're reshaping the future of healthcare delivery, one insight at a time. As a Data Scientist on our Analysis and Behavior Change team, you'll build industry-leading analysis, data, and technology platforms that help reinvent how healthcare works for millions of people across the nation.
This is not your typical data science role. At arenaflex, you'll work at the intersection of cutting-edge analytics and real-world healthcare impact. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver powerful solutions that improve patient outcomes, streamline operations, and make healthcare more personal, convenient, and affordable for everyone.
About the Role: Data Scientist – Cost and Operations Analysis
We're looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our Cost and Operations Analysis team, where you'll focus on driving efficiency, automation, and enhancing the provider experience across our healthcare ecosystem. This position plays a critical role within our analytics division, working alongside brilliant minds who are passionate about transforming healthcare through data science.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with massive volumes of healthcare data, developing models, tools, and algorithms that directly impact how we process claims, optimize operations, and deliver better experiences for both providers and patients. Your work will help arenaflex continue to lead the industry in healthcare innovation.
What You'll Do
As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, your days will be filled with challenging and meaningful work. Here's what you can expect:
- Model Development: Execute models, develop tools, and create algorithms to enhance processes related to our claims environment. You'll build predictive models that drive operational excellence.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify and measure opportunities for analysis to improve efficiency and increase automation in claim settlement and claim modification processes.
- Algorithm Creation: Create, validate, and execute algorithms and predictive models to investigate issues, identify patterns, and recommend data-driven solutions.
- Data Analysis: Analyze, examine, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms—from structured databases to unstructured text sources.
- Complex Problem Solving: Perform analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve reasonably complex business problems that directly impact our operations.
- Statistical Modeling: Apply advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses to extract meaningful insights from healthcare data.
- Data Pipeline Development: Develop data models and pipelines to integrate, collect, and normalize data that generates insights and addresses reporting needs.
- Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization techniques to communicate analytical results and support business decisions effectively.
- Data Integrity: Create and evaluate the data needs of assigned projects and ensure the integrity of data throughout its lifecycle.
- Data Source Innovation: Investigate existing data and recommend additional sources of data for improvements and enhanced analytics capabilities.
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Analytical Experience: 2+ years of relevant analytical experience in a professional setting.
- Programming Skills: Experience programming using R or Python—our team uses these languages daily to build sophisticated models.
- Database Knowledge: Strong experience in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
- Statistical Expertise: Proficiency in advanced statistical techniques and methodologies.
- Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, these qualifications will help you stand out:
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field
- Experience in healthcare analytics, particularly in claims processing or provider operations
- Knowledge of healthcare industry terminology and regulatory requirements
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop
