The role involves analyzing complex data sets to extract valuable business insights, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Acquiring and interpreting data from various primary and secondary sources
- Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality
- Identifying, analysing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets to provide actionable insights
- Cleaning and filtering data to ensure accuracy and integrity before analysis
- Creating data visualisations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings clearly to management and key stakeholders
- Collaborating with different departments to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytical support
- Working with management to prioritise business and information needs based on data-driven evidence
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in writing and executing complex SQL queries
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable
- A degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Statistics is preferred
- Familiarity with the energy sector would be an advantage but is not essential
