As an Analyst, Electric Rates, you will be responsible for delivering advanced analytics to support clients in capital allocation decision making, focusing on electricity rates and tariffs in the US and Canada.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new research and analytics on electricity rates and tariffs for the US and Canada
- Support clients in their screening and assessment of utility rates to quantify opportunities for data center, solar and storage projects
- Build detailed economic models to forecast long-term electric rates for multiple classes of customers (at the electric utility level)
- Develop and maintain models to forecast the long-term cost structure of utility transmission and distribution costs
- Lead the development and utilization of a utility rate calculator to analyze tariff structures across the US and Canada
- Track regulatory trends across the US and Canada to provide forward insights into utility rates and cost structures to our clients
- Participate in virtual and in-person meetings with clients and prospects, leveraging and demonstrating our solutions and forecast insights
- Work closely with our clients to create customized solutions to their most pressing and complex problems
Skills
- 3+ years of relevant work experience, including previous internships and co-op terms
- Completed bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, accounting, finance or relevant field
- Demonstrated understanding of utility rate structures and methodologies
- Strong analytical ability including statistical methods and optimization concepts
- Deep intellectual curiosity with a results-focused relentless pursuit of answers
