The SEO Account Manager leads the strategy and performance oversight of client SEO campaigns. This role partners with clients and Growth Lab’s SEO specialist team to translate business goals into clear SEO priorities, guide execution, and ensure measurable results. The Account Manager tracks performance, communicates insights to clients, and identifies opportunities to improve search visibility, traffic, and conversions while coordinating across content, technical SEO, and development teams.
Position Roles & Responsibilities
The SEO Account Manager is a client-facing role responsible for acting as the main point of contact between clients and the internal SEO team. This person plays a critical role in communicating SEO campaign performance, managing client expectations, identifying potential upsell opportunities, and ensuring tasks are executed on time and in alignment with client goals. The Account Manager ensures each client receives concierge-level service, driving strong retention, satisfaction, and long-term success.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, excellent communication, and strong project management skills. SEO Account Managers work hand-in-hand with SEO Specialists to translate client goals into actionable plans and measurable results.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead new client onboarding, including kickoff calls, information gathering, and goal-setting.
Set clear expectations around deliverables, timelines, and communication processes.
Collaborate with SEO Specialist to create a customized SEO roadmap based on client objectives.
Partner with the assigned SEO Specialist to ensure SEO strategies are tailored to each client’s business goals and local market dynamics.
Regularly review campaign performance and strategy.
Translate technical SEO information or updates into clear, client-friendly language.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, responding to inquiries within one business day.
Conduct regular check-ins to review performance, present insights, and gather client feedback.
Maintain detailed records of client communications, feedback, and priorities using internal tools (Zoho). Send monthly "value-add" emails to clients
Monitor task progress to ensure deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard.
Identify potential roadblocks or gaps in execution and escalate to relevant team members when needed. Maintain oversight of campaign milestones, reporting cycles, and performance metrics.
Proactively identify client needs, risks, and growth opportunities.
Work closely with the Sales, PPC, and SEO Strategy teams to recommend new services or upgrades that align with the client’s evolving goals.
Ensure a high level of client satisfaction to support long-term retention.
