Position Overview
As a Pharmacist in our Centralized Pharmacy Services division, you will be responsible for executing medical services procedures and driving patient wellbeing results. You will implement patient intervention pharmacy programs and ensure compliance with clinical pharmacy services. This role is instrumental in executing against established pharmacy programs, driving pharmacy financial performance by implementing programs that expand reimbursements while improving patient health outcomes.
You will be responsible for prescription processing from a remote setting, fostering strong relationships with clinical communities in assigned regions, and serving as a knowledgeable resource to other pharmacists and field leaders. This position requires someone who can maintain current knowledge of the pharmacy industry and required licensure while providing exceptional clinical expertise to patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care Programs: Execute direct patient care programs, including Drug Treatment Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Projects. Drive the execution of various business strategies and initiatives to ensure business needs are being met.
- Quality Assurance: Drive compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care and services by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes; monitoring and analyzing results; and implementing changes. Ensure regional Pharmacies comply with regulatory compliance, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines.
- Financial Performance: Drive regional pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies to company financial goals. Implement and execute patient intervention pharmacy programs to maximize financial performance.
- Patient Experience: Support efforts on enhancing patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services, including patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and retail, clinical, or wellness services such as vaccinations, disease state management, and Specialty programs.
- Team Support: Provide expertise, resources, training, and support to pharmacists and field management. Support staff training experiences and development opportunities. Promote teamwork and motivate Pharmacy staff by fostering a shared vision and supporting company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Medication Safety: Conduct data and clinical reviews and taking necessary action to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications. Review drug accounts and patient profiles to ensure proper and safe medication therapy. Provide individualized patient/provider consultation.
- Patient Communication: Through use of superior interpersonal skills, win the trust of patients by listening to their concerns and providing a sounding board for pharmacy concerns. Provide feedback regarding the effectiveness of client retention programs including comments from patients as the value of individual consultations.
- Clinical Consultation: Responsible for all inquiries, transactions, and issues which relate directly to patient treatment. Provide clinical consultation and information to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed.
- Compliance: Adhere to guidelines and procedures for all job duties to meet objectives. Comply with company policies and procedures including all HIPAA regulations/guidelines. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws.
- Additional Duties: Perform other work consistent with the job duties in this description as assigned by management.
Essential Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or related field required.
- Experience: Experience advancing colleagues to research and resolve issues.
- Confidentiality: Experience working with confidential information.
- Availability: Able to work non-standard hours, which may include nights, holidays and/or weekends.
- Time Management: Experience utilizing time management skills, such as prioritizing/coordinating and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple tasks with varying completion dates.
- Independence: Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
- Customer Service: Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Travel: Able to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to acquire other state pharmacy licenses if necessary.
- Knowledge of insurance plans.
- Knowledge of PC operating systems including Radio, Commitment, and Plus.
- Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a line, selecting font and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, adjusting text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: embedding, resizing, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding bullet points, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing frame view and/or running a slide show).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and adjusting text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, formatting, embedding bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, fix, spell check, track changes, review changes and/or print functions).
