Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
As an Operations Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence through data-informed decision making. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Performance Reporting: Compile and report on daily, monthly, and year-to-date operational metrics, comparing current performance against historical data and established targets. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive reports that highlight trends, variances, and areas requiring attention.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis to identify the underlying causes of operational variances across different operational areas. You will dig deep into the data to uncover patterns and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Schedule Risk Assessment: Evaluate changes to our flight schedule structure for potential risks to operational reliability. This includes analyzing schedule tightness, recovery options, and other factors that could impact on-time performance.
- Block Time Development: Build sophisticated city-pair, time-of-day, and season-specific scheduled block times using historical data, trend analysis, and forward-looking predictions such as airport construction projects and seasonal variations.
- Continuous Improvement Analysis: Perform ongoing analysis of actual block times versus scheduled block times with the goal of reducing average variance and minimizing outliers. Your insights will directly impact our scheduling accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Scorecard Development: Design and build performance scorecards using existing frameworks, then collaborate with our IT team to implement these scorecards and standardized reporting through Business Intelligence (BI) tools and related technologies.
- Delay and Cancellation Coding: Clarify and coordinate delay and cancellation coding procedures to ensure accurate data collection for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct special analyses as requested by management to support strategic decision-making and address emerging operational challenges.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management to support team objectives and organizational goals.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Statistics, Aviation Management, or a related discipline.
- Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate large volumes of data effectively. You must be comfortable working with complex datasets and extracting meaningful insights.
- Advanced Excel Proficiency: Strong Excel skills are essential, including proficiency in pivot tables, graphs, macros, and linked spreadsheets. You should be able to create dynamic spreadsheets that support ongoing analysis and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Ability to summarize and effectively communicate the results and conclusions from data analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional Experience: One to two years of analytical experience, including working as part of a collaborative team environment.
