Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience Excellence
- Engage with customers and patients by greeting them warmly and offering proactive assistance with products and services
- Resolve customer issues promptly and answer questions thoroughly to ensure a positive customer experience
- Model and share exceptional customer service best practices with all team members
- Demonstrate interpersonal habits including friendly greetings, appropriate eye contact, and courteous behavior
- Exhibit arenaflex service traits such as offering help proactively, identifying customer needs, and ensuring satisfaction before concluding interactions
- Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages customer loyalty and repeat visits
Pharmacy Operations Support
- Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service at the pharmacy counter
- Recommend items for sale to customers and suggest complementary or trade-up products
- Register customer purchases on assigned cash register, collecting cash and distributing change accurately
- Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed
- Assist customers in locating products, particularly in over-the-counter aisles
- Keep counters and shelves clean, well-merchandised, and organized
- Perform inventory management duties including taking stock and maintaining accurate records
- Check in and price merchandise as required or directed by management
Prescription Processing
- Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information accurately
- Process prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs with precision
- Verify that medicines are correct and check for potential drug interactions
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining efficient pharmacy workflow
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and Quality Improvement Programs
- Comply with all regulations regarding Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including physician inquiries
- Process manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
Inventory and Asset Management
- Support Pharmacy Department inventory management activities including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments
- Maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques
- File claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving prescription drugs
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products
Store Operations and Merchandising
- Construct and maintain appealing displays including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise
- Complete resets and revisions as directed by management
- Assist with separation of food items and product placement according to company policies
- Support stock rotation using the first in, first out (FIFO) method
- Demonstrate working knowledge of store systems and equipment
- Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services and suggestive selling of promotional photo products
- Assume web pick-up responsibilities including monitoring orders, filling orders, and delivering orders to customers
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly store appearance
Compliance and Professional Development
- Comply with all company policies and procedures while maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned
- Earn and maintain PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification through the designated training program
- Attend training sessions and complete required learning modules
- Maintain knowledge and skills in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments
- Acquire continuing education credits as required
Qualifications We Seek
Basic Requirements
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekend hours
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and measuring medications accurately
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Six months or more of experience in a retail environment
- Prior work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
- Strong mathematical skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems
- Knowledge of store inventory control procedures
- PTCB certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Previous experience with customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
