Business Development Manager

We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to support growth across both Doman Energy’s engineering services and QE Solar’s O&M offerings. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and driving revenue across commercial and utility-scale energy markets. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the renewable energy or power engineering space, paired with a proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and build long-term partnerships.


Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities


Business Development & Sales Strategy (40%)


Identify and pursue new business opportunities across engineering services and solar/BESS O&M markets

Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities


Client Relationship Management (25%)

Establish and grow relationships with IPPs, developers, utilities, EPCs, and asset owners

Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding technical and operational needs

Maintain ongoing communication to support repeat business and long-term partnerships


Proposal Development & Deal Execution (20%)

Lead RFP/RFQ responses, including pricing, scope development, and contract negotiation

Collaborate with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to develop tailored solutions

Drive deals from initial contact through contract execution


CRM & Reporting (10%)

Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting within CRM systems

Ensure timely updates on deal status and client interactions


Market Intelligence & Collaboration (5%)

Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities

Provide feedback to leadership on market conditions and service offerings

Partner with internal teams to align sales efforts with operational capabilities


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, including solar and BESS

Ability to sell both technical engineering services and long-term service agreements (O&M)

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Proven ability to build relationships and close complex deals

Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills

Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and operational teams


Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in energy, engineering, or related industry

Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue targets


Preferred Qualifications

Experience selling into utility-scale solar, BESS, or power engineering markets

Existing network within IPPs, developers, or utilities

Familiarity with EPC, O&M contracts, and engineering scopes

Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)


Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $130,000 – $165,000 (commensurate with experience)

Performance Bonus / Commission
