The Associate Digital Developer will be responsible for transforming 3D footwear designs into prototypes, operating 3D printing equipment, and collaborating with designers and engineers to ensure high-quality outputs.
Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate 3D printers to achieve optimal print quality and consistency
- Convert and prepare CAD files for 3D printing, including slicing, support generation, and print parameter optimization
- Inspect and measure printed components for accuracy and surface quality; adjust printer settings or processes as needed
- Select, load, and manage printing materials and inventory; coordinate orders to ensure uninterrupted production
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure printer reliability and minimize downtime
- Clean, sand, assemble, or otherwise finish printed parts to meet design and aesthetic requirements
- Construct and assemble prototypes, ensuring precise alignment, functionality, and design integrity
- Maintain organized records of print jobs, materials used, and process settings for future reference and process improvement
- Partner with engineers, designers, and R&D teams to prototype new products and refine designs
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance print speed, consistency, and quality
Skills
- Proficiency with slicing software (e.g., Cura, Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, Prusa Slicer)
- Experience with CAD or 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, Blender)
- Ability to work safely around machinery and tools
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to manage numerous projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Enthusiasm for innovation, continuous learning, and process improvement
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
- 1–2+ years of experience with FDM 3D printing (personal or professional)
