We’re seeking an Associate Attorney to join our growing team. This fully remote role is open to residents of California, Washington, Arizona, and Texas. Candidates must hold an active California Bar license and be available to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST.
As an associate, you’ll manage complex cases, provide strategic counsel, and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership in legal ethics
· Advise attorneys on ethical obligations and disciplinary matters.
· Represent clients in proceedings before state bar associations, including hearings and oral arguments.
· Maintain consistent, empathetic communication with clients throughout their case.
· Investigate complaints, analyze facts, and develop tailored defense strategies.
· Draft persuasive legal documents, including briefs, motions, and responses.
· Negotiate settlements when appropriate, balancing client interests with ethical compliance.
· Collaborate with colleagues and delegate tasks to support staff effectively.
· Stay current on developments in legal ethics and disciplinary procedures.
· Participate in legal associations and professional networks.
· May assist in developing training materials and passive communications.
· Maintain contemporaneous billing using Clio.
· Meet monthly targets of 125 billable hours and 100 collected hours.
· Foster a positive, client-centered work culture.
· Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
· Active California Bar membership in good standing.
· A minimum of 3-4 years of legal practice, ideally in ethics, professional responsibility, disciplinary defense, or complex civil litigation.
· California State Bar experience preferred.
· Familiarity with state bar rules and attorney conduct regulations.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple cases independently and meet deadlines.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel experience preferred.
